About Tovrino

01

What Tovrino is

Tovrino is an independent editorial project about the connection between working life and retirement, written for people in South Africa. It explores how the stages of a career may relate to a retirement outlook, and the factors that sit behind the calculations.

02

Why it exists

A great deal of what is published about money is either too technical to follow or is really a sales pitch in disguise. Tovrino sets out to explain the groundwork clearly and honestly, in plain language and with nothing to sell, so that a reader can understand why something is the way it is rather than simply being told what to think.

03

What it publishes

The material is a set of short articles and notes on:

  • how your working life relates to your retirement outlook;
  • the bigger picture of time, saving and inflation;
  • how employment history factors into planning;
  • the perspective each career stage offers;
  • South African context: retirement annuities, preservation and the two-pot system.
04

What it is not

Tovrino is strictly informational and educational. It does not sell financial products, does not accept commissions, does not manage money and is not a registered financial services provider. Nothing here is personalised financial, tax or retirement advice; for decisions that depend on your own circumstances, consult a professional registered with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA). The images on the site are illustrative and do not depict real clients.
